The necessity of grain drying
Grain harvest 1 to 3 times a year, and some need to store for several years. Grains are living organisms, and moisture is the condition for their survival. But too high water will lead to the breeding of insects and micro-organisms, resulting in cereal fever, fermentation, and deterioration and germination rate decreased. The Grain' moisture content of 25 to 30% when in the harvest, so as soon as possible to the safe moisture content of 13 to 15%.
Take rice as an example to illustrate the importance of drying.
Moisture below 18% of the rice can be stored at near room temperature for longer periods of time. However, even if the high water content of rice at room temperature due to microbial erosion, brown rice grain surface pollution generated brown or dark brown spots, brown rice grain quality deterioration, grade decreased; During the process of rice milling , the spot of brown spreading which resulting the quality of rice second deterioration, taste worse, even unable consumption.
